This trainee will lead a team of 15-20 drivers on a daily basis at our Niles location. Under general supervision, this position will be trained on the ins & outs of terminal management. Duties will include supervision of drivers and other personnel, including weekend shifts, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of packages and providing excellent customer service. This position will be trained to ensure compliance with DOT regulations. They are responsible for all drivers compliance and company regulations while working with internal and external contacts to ensure the accurate planning of routes as well as monitoring the daily delivery of loads. This individual must occasionally be able to run a route or perform some deliveries if the situation dictates.
Must be willing to work Saturdays or Sundays.
Shift and schedule will be determined based upon account need.
Associates Degree minimum / Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-4 years of management experience.
FedEx, UPS, Amazon supervisory experience is a PLUS!

Past delivery experience is a PLUS!
Learn to build and maintain positive professional relationships with drivers, help to minimize turnover and maximize ongoing productivity.
Learn to assign loads, plan routes, and monitor delivery services to provide safe, on-time service, meeting customer requirements, based on pick-up and delivery schedules.
Learn to maintain the Company's safety culture which includes daily driver safety messages, weekly driver safety briefings, monthly driver safety training, annual reviews, as well as enforce company policies to ensure DOT compliance and company safety requirements are being met.
Learn to work with drivers, customers, and company personnel to resolve service issues, routing and/or planning, mechanical problems, or items such as pay related issues as they occur throughout the day.
Learn to manage the fleet, including vehicle inspections, replacing parts (such as mirrors) and coordinating with fleet vendors to ensure all regular preventative maintenance services are scheduled on time and all safety related mechanical issues are fixed.
Learn to perform administrative duties such as payroll, review and audit of time keeping, driver counseling, accident reviews, filing and documenting, resolving pay issues, and/or creating operational reports.
Become proficient in maximizing efficiency of fleet operations and profitability and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
Learn to utilize personnel management for effective training and orientation of new drivers and/or employees including the training with third party (customer) systems.
Fill in for absent or unavailable personnel and on special projects related to optimizing fleet operations and achieving profitability.
Associates Degree (Bachelor's Degree a plus) in Business Administration/Management, Business Communications, or Transportation/Logistics
