Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a qualified Cyber Systems Engineer-Network SME for an established Situational Awareness and Mission Readiness (SAMR) program that provides secure DoD communications around the world. The position may require travel to Mobility Air Force (MAF) sites both CONUS and OCONUS. The position is located in Orlando, FL.
You will be involved in planning, designing, installing, maintaining, securing, monitoring local area networks (LANs)/wide area networks (WAN), and network security (STIGs, Audits, Reports). Specifications and detailed hardware and software schematics, implementation plans, and tools required to efficiently meet current and future business needs will be documented using MS Office tools including Visio.
Day to day operations will require you to monitor, analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
Knowledge of network architecture design
Creating or assisting with system administration and design (e.g. integrating virtual servers and active directory)
Troubleshooting malfunctions, diagnosing failures, determining root cause, developing fix actions, and executing defense-in-depth methodologies
Ensuring system security requirements are established and maintained from test and evaluation through operations
Recommending courses of action during risk assessment, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
Maintaining and working with other teams to maintain/upgrade labs and various other MAF networks
The ideal candidate should be comfortable interacting with other cyber functional areas, internal company management and executives. They should also have a broad knowledge of IT systems, the impacts of system hardening on those systems, and experience diagnosing and resolving issues caused by system hardening.
Education/Experience: 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD / 4 additional years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement
US Citizenship is required and must have current DoD Secret security clearance
Meet DoD 8570 IAT-II certification requirements (e.g. CCNA Security, or more advanced certifications) OR ability to obtain one within 6 months
Demonstrated experience with CDS, BGP, IGMP, PIM, DVMRP, Cisco ASA, ISE, CPI, and Firepower
Strong troubleshooting skills involving diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems while maximizing performance.
Develop and update internal documentation for projects and network engineering functions.
Demonstrated knowledge of LAN/WAN configuration and security strategies.
Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
Configuring, installing, and supporting network equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls, maximizing network efficiency and security.
Coordinating and planning circuit activation and site connectivity.
Arranging scheduled upgrades and updating network equipment to the latest approved firmware/software releases.
Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and applying Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to network equipment
The ability to work individually or as part of a team, requiring little supervision, in a fast-paced environment
