About the Position:
The Great Lakes and Ohio River Division (LRD) is actively seeking applications to fill multiple vacancies throughout the region. The first CUTOFF for consideration is 7 DEC 2017.

This is a Career Program (CP) 28 position.
Testing Designated Position. This position meets criteria for random drug testing under the Department of the Army (DA) Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program, as supplemented by USACE Pamphlet 600-1-3. Performance of the duties of the position is sufficiently critical that screening to detect the presence of drugs is warranted.
Permanent Seasonal Employment. An employment agreement must be executed between the agency and the employee prior to the employee's first day on duty.
Alternating Work Hours. Days of operation and typical daily schedules may vary based on site-specific work requirements. Typical schedules may consist of 1, 2, or 3 specific shift schedules. Employee may be required to alternate working hours on all shifts and on weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
Heavy physical lifting (over 50 pounds)
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of an LABORER (Standing Register)~ without more than normal supervision. . At a minimum, your level of experience must show that you have performed simple manual tasks that require a basic understanding of cleaning, grounds maintenance and lifting procedures; performed routine operator maintenance of hand tools and equipment; safely used industrial cleaners (typically used in households) and basic hand and yard tools and equipment, such as a rake, pitch fork, wheelbarrow, hand-pump sprayer, hand truck, shovel, push lawn mower (manual), hammer, screwdriver, wrench, and pliers; and performed routine work assignments with little or no assistance (e.g., picking up all paper and trash around the work site three times a week).- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
In addition to the screen-out element, you will also be evaluated on your level of Knowledge, Skill, Ability, and/or Competency (KSAC) in the following areas:
Ability To Follow Directions in a Shop
Ability To Handle Weights and Loads
Ability to Perform Work with Dexterity and Safety
Work requires very heavy physical effort in doing such tasks as frequently lifting and moving objects weighing over 23 kilograms (50 pounds), and using heavy power tools and equipment. Tasks typically involve continuous walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and standing
Work is performed outside in all kinds of weather and temperature extremes, and inside in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and/or noisy. Equipment, tools, and tasks involved frequently require special care to avoid serious injury. Work may also be performed around river or lake structures, which present the hazard of falling and/or drowning.
