Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant should be conversant in MIP and ADP software and able to provide support to colleagues in the department. In concert with Senior Services Division entities, works with multi-site program and administration staff and community payers. Ensures that data entry, validation and filing of client and payer activity are completed daily, timely and with accuracy. Manage claims weekly and monthly, including claims review, and validation systems.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
o Data entry with a focused-on timeliness and accuracy.
o Internal & external billing processes and requirements.
o Accuracy of billing, reconciliation and follow up.
o Coordinate with Program Manager(s) in the research of over/under hours for rebilling or write offs.
o Monitor and maintain software reports to confirm all accounts are billed consistent with program standards.
o Back up at second level for Staff Accountant II responsibilities.
o Back up at third level for Accounts Payable, and Payroll.
o Identify issue(s) and direct problem(s) that remain unsolved to appropriate position.
o Maintain a positive teamwork attitude towards the overall program.
o Multiple account reconciliations and applicable analytics.
o Assist with requests from various departments and management.
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in Accounting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Two years’ experience in accounting software and databases.
Two years’ experience monitoring and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
Two years’ experience in GL account reconciliation.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience with MIP software.
Experience with ADP software.
Experience with Sandata software.
Ability to effectively present information to management and to respond in writing to situations, as required by management.
Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Strong financial and record keeping skills.
Advanced skills in Excel.
