Western Home Communities invites you to bring your talents to our community, where you will provide exceptional cosmetology services to residents in both Independent Living and our specialized dementia cottages. This position works independently, as well as with a team, and allows you to schedule your own clients. Responsibilities of a Cosmetologist:
- Provide quality cosmetology services for Western Home Communities residents.
- Identifies the most efficient way to safely complete your scheduled workload and makes good use of available time-completing documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Interacts with residents/staff in a positive way and observes residents during interactions- reporting anything unusual to the nursing staff or administrator.
- Maintains supply inventory and notifies administration of supply needs.
- Maintains a clean, uncluttered, and well-organized work area that is safe and appealing to residents.
Requirements of a Cosmetologist: (Preferred and Required)
- The position requires flexibility and patience in working with a population affected by dementia.
- (Required) Must be a licensed Cosmetologist in the state of Iowa
- (Preferred) Manicure/pedicure experience
- (Preferred) Previous cosmetology experience
- (Preferred) Experience with an older population.
