Summary The Transportation Specialist is responsible for transporting boats from the marina to customer docks, picking up customer boats, launching boats in the water and on racks. You will be part of a team the plays a critical role in the smooth running of the marina.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Transport trailered boats using heavy-duty pick-up trucks to other locations.
- Move boats using tractors and marina forklifts.
- Assist in launching and racking boats.
- Inspect heavy equipment for damages.
- Follow OSHA and company guidelines.
- Keep up to date on all heavy marina equipment certifications.Powerwashing boats.
- Shrinkwrapping and removing shrinkwrapping.
- Cleaning boats.
- Report all equipment damages, accidents, and problems to the Operations Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Minimum 3 years’ experience using heavy equipment.
· Valid Driver’s license, a must. CDL Experiernce a PLUS!
· Clean driving record, a must.
· Boating Safety Certificate, a must.
· Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
· Marina Forklift experience, a plus.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Willingness to work as part of a team, a must.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required;
