Responsibilities

CCC is searching for a Design Engineer candidate who has a passion for design, packaging, creativity, and innovation to work at Studio PKG, our Atlanta-based Design Studio. You will be part of our Studio PKG “Concept to Shelf” process, to provide sketches, renderings, 3D CAD, models & dynamic presentations of new ideas for blow-molded containers. Your ideas will take shape using our 2D, 3D CAD, visualization tools and 3D printers. You will work as a team to introduce new ideas into the marketplace.

Exceptional engineering skills, communication and collaboration skills are mandatory.

Provide customers with sharp, innovative container designs that both meet customer specifications and stay within cost guidelines.
Ensure the creative products you dream up can withstand performance aspects such as top load and proper material choices.
Identify client needs from conceptual ideas in order to meet and exceed client expectations.
Qualifications
Requirements

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Design Engineering (preferred) or Industrial Design.
Deep understanding of extrusion and injection-stretch blow-molding (including recip, shuttle, wheel and PET).
Proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as Siemens NX (preferred) or SolidWorks.
Can interpret and create 2D engineering drawings.
Your 3D CAD designs, after customer approval, will go direct to 3D printing and mold making with little to no rework required.
Ability to create, present and modify your bottle designs “live” during Studio PKG Ideation Sessions or remotely via WebEx.
Experienced using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) such as Nastran NX, Ansys, Abaqus, NRC BlowView either directly or with outside vendors.
Ability to multi-task.
Provide a resume and portfolio that demonstrates your 3D CAD expertise.
Preferred Skills/Attributes

Passion for influencing others on how design can add value for consumer packaging.
Supervisory experience and project management skills.
Willingness to share and teach your knowledge to the design team.
Sense for great design and trends.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Graphic design skills to create visual presentations of your ideas.
Ability to create freehand sketches and color renderings.
Experienced with 3D rapid prototype printers.
Experienced with PDM/PLM.
