The Education Marketing team is looking for a passionate product marketing marketer (PMM) to develop and create differentiated value propositions, marketing materials and marketing programs to drive awareness and enable our sales teams to successfully sell K-12 and Higher Education Solutions.
In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with sales, product and marketing teams to architect Microsoft Education Solutions, define and develop a supporting bill of materials (BOM) for those Solutions including customer pitch materials, supporting evidence and case studies, and establish measurable and actionable feedback loops to drive continual improvements. In addition, you will act as the primary marketing lead on Education Solutions, working across marketing channels (web, events, relationship management, etc.) to ensure the optimal cross-channel marketing plans are developed and delivered in support of Solutions. You will develop deep insights into our Solutions target markets and customers, key competitors and seasonal drivers and develop feedback mechanisms with sales to understand blockers and opportunities to improve marketing and positioning.
You will also lead the design, development and execution of a Compete marketing plan to support both Education Solutions and our broader external marketing materials, including identifying the top needs and opportunities to equip our direct sales channel with proof points. Designing for scale and impact, you will create a business plan and drive alignment on expected impacts (goals) and resource needs to execute against this plan and then lead the execution phase.
Overall you will work closely with stakeholders and teams across Microsoft Education to develop and execute engagement programs, integrated marketing plans, go-to-market strategies, tactics, assets and resource alignment that will drive business impact (e.g. sales pipeline for Solutions), delight customers and turn them into fans.
Contribute to the architecture of Microsoft’s Education Solutions and develop deep expertise on their target customers, competitive challenges and Microsoft competitive advantages in order to craft compelling marketing positioning and materials. Serve as a subject matter expert on Microsoft Education’s portfolio of solutions to internal stakeholders.
Own developing and executing annual marketing plans and craft compelling, differentiated value proposition and messaging and materials targeted at Solutions target customers. Drive alignment across the organization and various stakeholders.
Establish marketing metrics of success for Solutions and report on them in monthly business reviews (MBRs). Own analysis of metrics to drive continual improvement.
Act as marketing lead for cross-channel marketing support of Solution selling. Ensure all channel owners have the plans and resources they need to deliver.
Work with partner marketing and partner sales teams to ensure their partner needs are met and to establish actionable feedback loops.
Develop Solutions marketing content (BOM), including but not limited to customer pitch decks, proof points, battlecards and other assets.
Produce and distribute evidence that support our Solutions value props (e.g. case studies, testimonials).
Create a Compete marketing plan inclusive of but broader than Solutions and gain stakeholder buy-in on execution. Own execution of the plan following approval.
Working in concert with the Education Storybook process and owner, partner effectively with product marketing and engineering teams to prioritize and evangelize the capabilities and experiences that we need to develop that will improve the value props of our Education Solutions.
3+ years of marketing experience (preferably with experience working in the Education vertical).
Demonstrated experience and ability in driving audience, solution or product positioning development.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Proven capability to deliver world class marketing content, including value proposition, evidence, presentations and other assets for identified solutions, products/features and segments/audiences.
Passion for education and education technology.
A track record of exceptional partnering across a wide-array of internal business groups, agencies, executive stakeholders and execution partners.
An entrepreneurial spirit that is passionate about connecting with customers and changing the way they perceive our brand and our products.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent communication skills, high degree of accountability with willingness to take measured risks and set bold goals.
B.A./B. S in Business, Marketing or related field Computer Information Systems, preferred.
M.B.A (or equivalent in related work experience).
