he Human Resources Coordinator will be a valuable member of our HR Team. This role will support the Senior HR Manager and HR Generalist. Chicago Commons is a premier social service organization that has made a difference in the Chicagoland area for over120 years. Chicago Commons’ mission has been to partner with individuals families and communities to overcome poverty discrimination and isolation. We are a neighborhood-focused nonprofit dedicated to improving the well-being of thousands of children adults seniors and families. Our programs are designed to provide the necessary tools to help strengthen skills and develop self-sufficiency. Since 1894 we have operated in neighborhoods where children seniors and families are most at risk for poverty violence and educational disadvantage including West Humboldt Park Pilsen Back of the Yards and Grand Boulevard. Currently we are seeking a skilled HR Professional to join our team.

The Talent Acquisition – HR Generalist is a very important role. This role will work closely with divisional leaders to fill open positons and ensure our compliance with funders hiring guidelines. A successful candidate will have a strong track record of success filling positons with talent that will live and fulfil the organization’s mission. S/he will be charged with building strong relationships with schools recruitment organizations and other organizations with will help us find talent. This driven engaging professional will also be responsible for all internal and external recruitment efforts and the development of our talent acquisition strategy to support Chicago Commons growth.

Candidates must have a minimum of three to five years’ experience. Knowledge and experienced with full cycle recruitment and general recruitment strategies with proven track record of success. Through knowledge HR law and best practices. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. Familiar with the non-profit environment and/or in-house recruitment but may act as a search consultant. Ability to coordinated or managed organizational onboarding process. Skilled computer competence with Microsoft and/or Mac products. Excellent communicate skills (verbal and written) Proven track record for recruiting at all levels within the organization. Experience with applicant tracking systems; Ultimate – Ultipro preferred. Professional in approach and ability to work in a fast paced environment with an amiable and approachable with a can-do attitude. Strong work ethic and sense of urgency to fill open requisitions. Organized and able to self-directed. Open to regular feedback and willingness to adapt according to business needs data driven; results oriented. Commitment to working to achieve organizational objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Acquisition

Managing the requisition process via the Applicant Tracking System entering open positions and managing application flow while ensuring all recruitment activities comply with company policies and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
Actively builds talent pool by researching and contacting community services colleges and internet sites that include social media sites; providing organization information opportunities and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport with viable talent.
Conducts virtual and in-person interviews with viable applicants; analyzing responses; comparing qualifications to job requirements.
Conducts reference and background checks as needed to assist with hiring process.
Regularly connect with hiring managers to understand divisional talent needs.
Go above and beyond to understand where to find the best talent for each division by tapping into industry specific events and promote forward thinking recruitment tactics
Connect to diverse candidates and understand candidate preferences in employers that allows for more insight into the talent pool.
Provide regular updates on open requisitions before managers inquire about status of job.
For hard to fill roles partner with hiring manager to discuss additional strategies for identifying talent.
Work harmoniously with team members to move organizational Human Resource objectives and goals forward.
Join new relevant organizations and attend networking events often.
Participating in job fairs professional conferences community events and participating in activities that will build brand awareness and promote career opportunities
Analyzing data to measure the effectiveness of the recruiting sources and implementing improved strategies to ensure overall recruitment objectives are met
Onboarding

Ensure that new hires participate in new hire orientation
Conduct and facilitate new employee orientation
Manage the 90 day employee orientation process by initiating the process monitoring it and following for compliance
Create metrics analyze data and report/validate effectiveness of recruitment and talent acquisition efforts
Perform other related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree required with 4+ years of recruitment experience preferred in nonprofit education or healthcare settings.
Experienced with full cycle recruitment and general recruitment strategies with proven track record of success teachers and nonprofit staffing preferred
Connected with active pipelines that demonstrate proven ability to recruit diverse talent
Familiar with the non-profit environment and/or in-house recruitment
Coordinated or managed organizational onboarding process
Computer competent with Microsoft and/or Mac products
Excellent communicate skills (verbal and written)
Experience with applicant tracking systems; Ultimate – Ultipro preferred.
