Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

The primary role of the HR Rep is to perform employment and other HR activities that support the daily operations of our programs and corporation’s initiatives. In coordination with the HRBP, the incumbent assists with implementation of Human Resources programs and practices including recruiting, onboarding, training, benefits and related programs for the site.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provide HR support to plant population.
Help employees resolve wide variety of issues.
Coordinate the hiring of new employees and ensure employment decisions follow company policy and employment laws.
Respond to employee questions and complaints regarding a wide variety of issues (FMLA, work schedules, transfers, promotions, benefits, safety, unfair treatment, performance, personal issues, pay, and company policies).
Advise Unit Managers and Supervisors to ensure consistent application of corrective action of company policies and standards of conduct.
Coordinate with Unit Managers to determine hiring needs and ensure proper staffing.
Conduct investigations.
Assist with response to EEOC, DOL and unemployment claims.
Communicates changes in HR related policies and benefit plans.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business, Communication and/or related field required
3+ years of progressive and relevant high level HR experience in the areas of employee/labor relations, internal investigations, conflict resolution and talent acquisition
Manufacturing industry experience
Creativity, innovation and the ability to solve problems and generate viable solutions
Strong computer skills (ability to learn SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) training skills, customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills.
Must be approachable and effective with ability to influence change across all levels of the organization
Must have good time management skills and be able prioritize duties
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, but also sensitive situations where information must be shared on a an ‘need to know’ basis
Strong knowledge of related federal and state employment laws
Education
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources
