  • Acts as liaison between design, review, construction, and using agencies.
  • Develops engineering plans. Uses AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

  • Prepares engineering sketches and CAD drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Utilizes surveying technology to include Global Positioning System (GPS). Evaluates potential construction sites.
  • Performs drafting duties. Interprets rough engineering sketches to produce working drawings using manual and CAD techniques.
  • Produces architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical drawings. Updates Base Comprehensive Plans (BCP) and maintains record drawings. Plots and reproduces drawings.
  • Performs surveying duties, conduct reconnaissance, site location, construction, and mapping surveys while operating manual and electronic surveying equipment. Collects, converts, and presents field survey data for engineering projects. Maintains associated equipment. Supports contingency operations.
  • Develops bed-down plans to house personnel, aircraft, equipment, and associated support functions during contingency operations.
  • Complies with all health, safety, and environmental rules, laws, codes, guidelines, criteria, and standards in the programming, planning, and construction of real property facilities, with 100% compliance required.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with military leadership, contractors, civilians and local nationals; communicating both verbally and in writing to key personnel both within and outside ASG-A.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with engineering drawings and Tri-service CAD standards to ensure standardization across maps and as-built drawings.
  • Escorts TCN/LN contractors as needed.
  • Travels to Forward Operating Bases within Afghanistan to provide AutoCAD technician services.


The Auto CAD Technician support shall possess an Associate’s Degree in Drafting and Design Technical Engineering. The Auto CAD Technician shall have a minimum of 3 years of experience in CAD. The Technician shall possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.

Special Requirements:

  • Must have a secret clearance at time of the application, and must maintain the level of security required for the life of the contract. The security requirements are in accordance with the DD254 as performed and provided by the US contractor’s Security Officer.
  • “Fit for Duty”. Determination of fitness for duty rests with the contractor; however, note that duty in the AOR is strenuous. High and low ambient temperatures and long duty days/weeks suggest only physically fit and medically qualified individuals will do well in theater.
  • Medical Qualifications. Providing on a one time basis within five (5) calendar days of the start of the period of performance, a letter certifying that contractor possess immunizations, and medical and dental screenings that meet DoS and DoD requirements for contractor personnel performing duty in the AOR is an asset.

Special Notes:

  • WORK WEEK. Monday through Sunday, unless specified otherwise.
  • The contractor is responsible for conducting business, as set forth by ASG-A Command, including Federal holidays.
  • The Government will provide Billeting: The Government shall make available living quarters for U.S. Nationals (USN). Contractor personnel may be expected to live in tents or in quarters constructed for one (1) person but occupied by two (2) or more for all or a portion of this task order performance of period. Any and all lodging related services (laundry) made available to military will be similarly offered to all authorized personnel subject to host-base policy.
  • Meals: Contractor personnel will be allowed to eat at the dining facility (DFAC) and shall be provided bottled drinking water while on duty.
  • Contractor shall have 15 days paid leave every six months with complimentary air ticket.

Citizenship: US Citizenship is required for this position.

Salary Range: $60,000-$120,000 ($104,100 Tax Free)

Duration: 1 year with 4 years option
