About the Role
Tate & Lyle is looking for a Product Manager who will be responsible for the overall performance of product portfolio, focused on driving sustainable and profitable growth for the overall T&L business. The Product Manager is responsible for portfolio management and pricing strategy. The role supports the optimisation of the full value chain in collaboration with Procurement, Global Operations, SC, Innovation Commercial Development / Applications & Technical Services, and, is knowledgeable on market / competitive intelligence. While the role is primarily asset facing, the Product Manager plays a critical role working closely with Category Directors to support commercial initiatives and pipeline management.
Product P+L: Sustainable profitable growth through product P+L lens. Accountable for growing the business in particular CM/GP.
Product Strategies: Defines and implements product based strategies and tactics
Pricing: Close collaboration with Pricing for definition of target margins, price bands and product pricing strategies, focus cost plus side.
Portfolio Management: Optimization and maintenance of the portfolio on SKU level
Value Chain Management: Identifies and realises optimisation potential in collaboration with Global Operations functions. Strongly involved to manage and resolve products claims for instance.
Planning: Supports and leads the S&OP content of his/her product line, 5 year planning, AOP, tactical planning, allocation of products
Market and Competitive Intelligence: Jointly with MI/CI defines and monitors markets and competition and their developments.
Innovation: Contributes to the New Product Development pipeline, business planning. Plays a key role in the preparation of the launch plans and packages to ensure readiness for launch.
Skills & Experience Required
Strong commercial acumen, with a proven ability to make choices and prioritise projects in relation to the business opportunity they represent
Strong action orientation, self-starter and able to work independently as needed
Analytical and detailed-oriented, and with a comfort discussing technical details
Excellent communication (verbal and written), and an ability to navigate in complex matrix organization
Ability to travel, up to 10% as needed to manufacturing sites and customer meetings
Basic financial and logistic accumen
Experience in product management and / or food and beverage industry / markets is a plus
