Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Business and Economics (COBE), the Executive Director of the MBA program is the primary administrator for the program. Major responsibilities include:
- Provide “Customer Service” to MBA students, serving as the primary program representative with a focus on responding to student concerns, assist in solving problems, and provide information.
- Provide support for international students in the MBA program, supplementing and enhancing services provided by the Director of International Student Services.
- Manage administrative aspects of the program.
- Work with the academic Chair of the MBA program on areas of joint responsibility.
- Report to the Dean of the College of Business and Economics, and serve on the Dean’s Council leadership team of COBE administrators.
- Collaboration and partnership with Academic Department Chairs and faculty
- Work closely with third-party marketing providers to attract, enroll, and retain student populations.
Specific duties to meet the above responsibilities include:
- Customer Service
- Develop, maintain and enhance relationships between MBA students and COBE.
- Assist MBA adviser in developing student schedules, resolving problems and providing feedback as needed.
- Serve as primary contact point for any student concerns.
- Assist students in resolving issues related to classroom and instructor concerns, referring students to the appropriate person if a grade appeal or other action is needed.
- Provide in-person services at the beginning of each semester for evening and weekend classes.
- It is understood that the above duties include the responsibility to coordinate with primary support areas and to direct students to appropriate areas and ensure that policies and procedures are being applied consistently.
- International Student Support
- Serve as the initial contact point in the Dauch building for student concerns relevant to international students, providing assistance and directing students to the appropriate resources as needed.
- Participate in the international student orientation program each semester.
- In collaboration with the Director of International Student Services, ensure that on-campus and off-campus international MBA students obtain needed support services.
- Program Administration
- Serve on the Graduate Cabinet as the primary representative of the MBA program.
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of adjunct faculty and mentor them on non-academic issues, providing copies of current syllabi and textbooks.
- Work with the Campus Bookstore to ensure adjunct faculty have ordered the correct textbook for their course(s).
- Oversee the MBA website to ensure correct and current information is posted, including but not limited to updates related to curriculum changes.
- Serve as the director and primary contact figure for the 1-Year International MBA Program at various locations.
- Provides a physical presence in Dauch COBE and off-campus centers to support faculty, staff and administration on MBA issues.
- Manage online curriculum rotations and adjunct staffing for MBA course offerings.
- Approve faculty requests for payment of course-related expenses.
- Assist in MBA orientation activities, and in maintaining and updating MBA orientation materials.
- Initiate supplemental contracts every semester for full-time and adjunct faculty, providing information to Dean’s administrative assistant.
- Manage use of off-campus facilities for MBA classes, including payment of monthly expenses for the program at off-campus sites.
- Coordinate MBA program study tours, domestic and international.
- Participate in graduation ceremonies, Delta Mu Delta induction, and similar events involving MBA students.
- Create content for communication to MBA online students regarding curriculum structure, optimal strategies for degree planning, and COBE activities and venues for online students to engage with COBE.
- Coordinate course offerings with off-campus center directors/coordinators to ensure proper logistics.
- Work with Marketing Department in developing promotional material.
- Collaborate with International Recruitment.
- Work closely with the Business Office and Financial Aid Office for seamless student support.
- Work with MBA Chair
- Work with the MBA Chair in scheduling and staffing of courses as well as other administrative functions.
- Serve on the MBA Curriculum Committee.
- Attend MBA faculty meetings.
- Assist in preparing MBA probation and dismissal letters each semester.
- Confirm specializations for MBA graduates, submit names and specializations to the Office of Records and Registration, and coordinate generation of MBA specialization certificates.
- Report to COBE Dean
- Work with the Dean of the College of Business and Economics (COBE) in strategic planning and implementation.
- Serve on the Dean’s Council.
- In conjunction with the Dean of COBE, develop a yearly budget for the operations of the MBA program.
- Project enrollment and revenue for each academic year.
- Work with the business office in clarifying any budget-related issues and revised projected revenue for the MBA program.
- Provide input on marketing, recruiting and retention strategy for MBA students.
- Assist and support Dean in developing, maintaining and enhancing business partnerships relevant to all COBE programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
