Position Description:
Payroll Management and System Support – The Junior Payroll Specialist is responsible for executing transaction and maintaining electronic records that ensure employees of the client are paid accurately and on time. This position will make entries and adjustments in the time tracking and payroll system as requested, reconcile payroll records, perform audits, and train employees in the use of payroll systems. The work is on-site in Washington, DC and performed during normal business hours.
The position requires a person with strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a highly accurate work practices.
Role Responsibilities:
- Create and modify user profiles in payroll and time tracking systems as requested within one working day
- Process benefit payments (parking/transit, etc.) on schedule
- Release time sheets to payroll system
- Review and submit adjustments to timesheets within one working day of receipt
- Research and resolve payroll inquiries
- Create and maintain payroll standard operating procedures as requested
Required Skills:
- High School Diploma, with a minimum of 1 year of experience using payroll systems.
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel
- Knowledge of payroll processes, preferably in government organizations
- Good communicator with excellent presentation and relationship management skills
- Experience with writing and administering procedures and processes.
- US Citizenship Required / Background Investigation required to attain favorable entry on duty (EOD)
