This is an exciting opportunity to join Marotta. This position is responsible for assisting the Operations Department in all tasks relative to the scheduling and planning of production activities and development work orders.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
A minimum GPA of 3.0 Cumulative is strongly preferred
Candidate must be actively enrolled pursuing either a Bachelors or Master Degree
Verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as any and all outside agents, including but not limited to; vendors, suppliers, customers, etc.
Strong computer literacy, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.

Marotta Controls Supply Chain & Operation Interns, will have the opportunity to interrelate with different functional areas within Supply Chain & Operation (Planning, Purchasing, Production Management). Depending of the functional area assigned, your responsibilities could be:
Communicating material status
Maintaining data integrity
Become familiar with material and data flow within the production environment
Expediting material
Assist the Planning team in the planning process
Follow Standard Operating Procedures
Continuous improvement initiatives
Running, distributing and managing Supplier Open Order Reports
Manage parts shortages, which are caused by supplier delivery delay, non-conforming material or other problems, to satisfactory resolution
Processing and coordinating replacement of non-conforming material
Source various parts, solicit quotes from suppliers and place orders for a wide variety of services and commodities in support of production and facility
Generate monthly metric reports
Work closely with other areas of the business, including accounting, engineering, quality, and operations
Generate programs to assure the uninterrupted flow of material in support of production build schedules while minimizing downtime and inventory levels
In addition to the regular duties and responsibilities, interns are encourage to participate in special projects.

Work Environment:
This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required)
Travel is not expected for this position

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, or crouch, and move about the facility
The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds
