STATUS: Part-time, approx. 25 hours/week with potential for full-time)
COMPENSATION: Starting at$18 - $23 per hour, dependent on experience.
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Candidate may need to occasionally work additional hours depending on firm needs. The position is in office.

THE POSITION:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Docketing Assistant to join our fast-paced law firm. The primary duty of this position will be responsible for managing the firm’s docketing system, ensuring all ECF filings, court orders, legal deadlines, depositions, and schedules are accurately recorded and maintained. Additionally, this role will assist with various administrative tasks . Attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to act as a team player are necessities for success. Our ideal candidate has previously worked with ECF docketing and demonstrated a pattern of detail-oriented, quality work. Past work experience in a law office is a requirement.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Docketing Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the firm's docketing database and varies systems with critical dates and deadlines.
- Monitor and track court filings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Calculate dates and calendar deadlines in firm’s file management systems.
- Tracking matter activity and pending deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate with attorneys and legal staff to ensure timely filing and deadlines.
- Generate and distribute docketing reports to relevant parties.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure data accuracy.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare correspondence, reports, email, and other documents.
- Develop and maintain well-organized client, and other files.
- Timely enter billing data into firm’s system.
- Provide support for client intake processes.
- Communicate effectively with staff, clients, co-counsel, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Greet clients and conference room set-up and clean-up as needed.
- Perform office set-up and clean-up as needed.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly team meetings.
- Additional duties to respond to firm needs as they arise.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of docketing, court-ordered dates, pleadings, and other legal deadlines.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 2 years of work experience (administrative and/or legal support in a law firm setting is a plus).
· Experience with legal assistant tasks.
· Fluency in spoken and written Spanish.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time.
· Frequently required to use hands and fingers (including the use of computer keyboards).
· Required to use ears/voice to talk or hear (including the use of a telephone).
· Occasionally required to walk, stand, reach with hands and arms.
· May occasionally need to lift and/or move reams/boxes of printer paper weighing up to 50 pounds.
