Human Resources professional is responsible for day-to-day administration of benefit programs to include health and welfare, COBRA, FMLA and other disability. Position oversees employee education, communication, compliance and management of all benefit programs.

Job Responsibilities:

Benefits Administration

  • Track and manage employee eligibility and status changes for all company benefit programs
  • Develop communication plans to inform prospective and current employees about benefits
  • Manage key relationships with brokers, providers and other representatives to ensure high service levels with effective program design
  • Manage annual renewal/open enrollment process and associated staff education events
  • Prepare and send follow-up communications to newly covered employees
  • Develop and manage benefit administration instructions
  • Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives and payroll company regarding benefit setup and maintenance
  • Lead any system improvements to the benefits portal that includes employee self-service and open enrollment
  • Reconcile benefit carrier reports monthly, auditing employee deductions to confirm accuracy
  • Work closely with payroll on projects and day-to-day activities that coordinate between benefits and payroll
  • Work with HR Director to continuously review current benefits ensuring competitiveness and alignment with organizational priorities and goals
  • Implement new and approved benefit plans and changes by preparing announcement material, booklets and other employee communications related to new plans
  • Oversee the Employee Wellness program design, administration and communication
  • Develop ROI metrics for the Employee Wellness program, creating semi-annual reports and communicating program results to senior leadership
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with ACA (1095 filings, benefit eligibility, etc.) and ERISA
  • Track FMLA, ADAAA and Disability requests coordinating necessary paperwork
  • Prepare termination letters and communications with benefit enrollment information and ensure all applicable notices or documents are included
  • Process all payroll and benefit terminations

Other General Responsibilities:

  • Enter, update and maintain employee personnel information and records in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support payroll by reviewing timesheets, leave accruals and deductions for payroll processing
  • Process policy updates, create forms, coordinate meetings, return vendor or applicant phone calls, etc.
  • Track monthly and YTD employee turnover, prepare detailed reports
  • Produce reports and create PowerPoint presentations as needed
  • Exercise individual judgment while dealing with real or potential problems on own initiative and bring any concerns to HR Director's attention

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years Human Resources administrative or generalist experience
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft products required: Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Federal and state laws and regulations
  • Human Resources operations and policies
  • Employee benefit practices and procedures
  • ACA standards and compliance
  • Running and reviewing reports to provide analytical and statistical feedback
  • Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems
  • Ability to organize priorities, meet deadlines and work independently
  • Ability to effectively present benefit programs and options to employees
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Proven ability to be detail oriented with excellent multi-tasking and follow-through skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and remain productive despite interruptions
  • Strong commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to handle multiple and possibly conflicting priorities
  • Positive and professional attitude with commitment to resolve issues and respond quickly to employees

  • Payroll experience preferred
