Human Resources Assistant needed for Seattle-based blood bank and research institute

As the Human Resources Assistant, you will provide administrative support to nearly all programs and services under the umbrella of Human Resources. This will include everything from routine clerical work, to recruiting, to compensation and benefits administration.

Responsibilities

  • Post job ads and organize resumes
  • Submit background and reference checks and review for acceptability upon completion
  • Prepare for and conduct New Employee Orientation, arranging for leadership participation in luncheons and notifying presenters of new hires
  • Facilitate the benefit enrollment process
  • Serve as a point person for all new employee questions
  • Manage Human Resources payroll activities including verifying weekly time reports and adjustments for Manager and/or Director approval
  • Participate in benefits tasks such as commuter benefit administration, claim resolutions, reconciliation of benefits statements, and approval of invoices for submission to Accounts Payable
  • Function as the HRIS superuser and be the subject matter expert when implementing new system functionality, ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, basic report writing and data flow from our client to vendors

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Human Services; or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in an office setting
  • One or more years’ experience in a Human Resources environment
  • Experience working with Ceridian Dayforce or other HR information systems
  • Proficient in the use of MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Experience creating and maintaining process documentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, coordinate multiple projects, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Demonstrated discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters
