As Beautycon’s Social Media Manager, you will work under the Marketing team (which includes content, creative, Talent, and communications/PR departments) to deliver forward-thinking content to thrill our community and drive audience growth and engagement. In addition to being super focused on the details, the quality, and the deadlines, you are also a creative editorial visionary who lives and breathes beauty, internet culture, and can see and deliver the future of our content.

As part of the Marketing team, you’ll also be an integral extension of our marketing efforts as it relates to our festivals and experiences and other new businesses, curating and managing our editorial calendars for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Snapchat.

Who you are:
You’re all over the latest video the social media trends, understanding what our community wants to see socially and supporting the team in delivering it. Our current community will be in awe of what you help produce, with high engagement and growth. You read the news and look at social from the minute you wake till last thing at night - and you love every second of it!

Experienced with Social Platforms. You will be a total boss at scheduling and posting to Beautycon’s Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest and Twitter based on our weekly content goals. The successful Social Media Editor will have experience developing standards, systems and best practices for content creation, distribution (repurposing), with a core focus on real-time visual storytelling to drive audience development. You’ll also be totally comfortable with social media platforms such as Dash Hudson, CreatorIQ, Confluencer, Tribe, Later, Hootsuite and help bring data to life company wide.

Comfortable on Camera. You have experience editorizing, programming, scripting and participating on camera for Facebook and Instagram live.

Strategic and Data-Driven. You are able to take insights/data and create a strategy for social media. You have extensive experience in utilizing data and analytical reasoning to measure and reporting campaigns and provide actionable recommendations to the Marketing team.

Exceptional with Details. You pride yourself on your attention to detail. All research you provide to our Marketing team comes fully organized with clear communication and strategy. You are also an expert at communicating your ideas and translating your strategy into a presentation format.

Research Expert. You’ll scour the web on a regular basis to help our team uncover new trending topics and breaking news and help our editors to bring these stories to live in a meaningful way for our audience. You’ll also support writers/producers with trending content creation during special events, including award shows, working quickly and cleanly in real-time.
Editorial Approach

As a social-first copywriter, you will apply your natural talent through tweets, posts and stories, maintaining a high bar for creativity and passion. You know how to work a meme or jump on a trend, distilling anything down to its essence as is necessary for effective social writing.

Unflappable and flexibility are your middle names. You understand things change quickly in this environment. You deliver no matter what. With the ability to pause, laugh, and take action, leveraging your exceptional problem solving skills to make sure everything is seamless.

The requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or English is a plus.
Minimum 2 years experience as a social media manager/community manager in social media or digital content space at an agency or brand/content-first entertainment company
A habit of reading various media outlets and ongoing awareness of what’s going on in the news.
Deep knowledge of social content and social best practices, all with an eye to the future.
A team player with a collaborative attitude, an open-mind and a drive to make your work and the work of those around you better.
Eagerness and willingness to learn (and to test and fail).
Ability to multitask and manage own time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
5-10% domestic and international travel may be required
Proficient in G Suite, MS Office, and Keynote
Snappy copywriting skills imperative! You are into pop culture and can craft fun posts, clever captions and more that make us smile and laugh.
Proven understanding of social media best practices and a strategic approach to a wide range of new and emerging platforms
Expert written and oral communication skills and presenting reports are required.
Ability to track and leverage KPIs, while understanding the rapidly changing social media landscape
Experience with forms of new media including, but not limited to: website, social media, video, mobile.
