Child Protection Parent Educator/Visitation Supervisor
Full Time and Part Time Positions Available
The Visitation Supervisor/Parent Educator will provide visitation and/or parent education services for families transitioning through county child protection units. Visits can be held in clients’ homes, Minnesota Families United office locations, or public spaces including libraries, parks, community centers, etc. Visits can be held Monday through Sunday between the hours of 7:30 am and 7:30 pm. EVENING AND WEEKEND HOURS ARE IN HIGH DEMAND.
Graduation from college, with bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Family Science, Psychology, Education, or other Human Service Fields. An associates degree and at least 2 years experience in a related field will also work. Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English. Bilingual workers are in high demand. Able to help families develop goals and plans for effective parenting. Ability to teach, nurture, and empower program participants. Ability to work independently, but with strong team commitment. Ability to use Microsoft Word to generate case notes. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. High ethical standards. No criminal record or history of child or adult abuse/neglect. Must hold a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and car insurance.
Schedule, conduct, and document regular visitation sessions with non-custodial parents and their children in a safe and nurturing environment. Deliver a curriculum designed to teach basic parenting skills and child development. Collaborate with community partner agencies to access services for participating families. Promote community awareness of local programs available to support families. Transport children to and from visits (when requested by county agency).

Salary: $18.00 to $30.00 /hour
