Position: FOIA/Redaction Clerk
Location: Waukegan, IL
Job Summary: Becoming a FOIA/Redaction Clerk, would allow you to be involved with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Records Division. Your day will consist of reviewing and redacting Digital Media Evidence (DME – videos) and FOIA requests. You will also perform general office duties which include typing correspondences, filing and tracking of documents, along with assisting the public and any outside agencies. You will have endless opportunities to impact and make a difference within Lake County. Being able to build working relationships with employees among 30 countywide departments and the public is sure to keep you interested and continuously learning.
In order to be successful in this role, you should have a High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent. You most have knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, equipment, grammar, and Microsoft Office 2016. Must have a willingness to learn video redaction software and be able to complete State of Illinois Freedom of Information Act and Open Meetings Act training within 90 days of hire.
