This is an exciting opportunity in Fridley, Minnesota for a Technician II – 2nd or 3rd Shift.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
A Lab Operations Technician II works closely with others to help build and test development gensets. They have basic technical skills and knowledge of the products. This position focuses on products using small engines up to 50kw/65hp, mid-size engines up to 500kw/650hp, and large engines up to 3.5MW/4700hp.
Responsible for assembly, set up, troubleshooting, testing and documentation of test results for testing articles (genset, sub-system, etc.).
Collect prototype material, fabricate and build prototypes and validate engineering drawings. Provide feedback on assembly to engineers/stakeholders.
Perform routine tests. Collect, analyze and interpret data per approved test plan. Make necessary adjustments (equipment, instrumentation, etc.). Review data to find any abnormalities to ensure quality.
Draft test reports to include findings, conclusions and recommendations. Review this with Lead Technician or manager for approval. Present information to engineers/stakeholders.
Independently troubleshoot and diagnose common test cell problems.
Identify and participate in improvement projects (quality, safety, customer satisfaction) for the department/team. Participate in Kaizen Events as assigned.
Follow correct safety procedures (i.e., tools, equipment, lifting, guards, protective equipment, etc.). Work safely and ensure the safety of others in the work area.
Complete other work as assigned
Use logistics equipment to aid in performing work as required.

M inimum Associates technical degree in engineering or related field from an accredited program
Minimal experience required
Knowledge of diagnoses and test cell problems, maintenance and calibration of test equipment
Knowledge of quality and reliability principles
Basic understanding of engines, alternators, controls, and enclosures.
Basic instrumentation skills and knowledge
Effective written and verbal communication skills (communicating to internal and external customers, peers, stakeholders, etc.)
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
Compensation and Benefits
Base hourly rate (commensurate with experience) ($rate/hour) (plus bonus.)
