Provides direct care, patient education and the management of the applicable therapy called for in the patients treatment plan. Consults with and educates other care team members concerning applicable patient assessment and treatment protocols. Serves as a rehabilitation resource for the care team.
Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy with a Baccalaureate or Master’s Degree.
Licensure and Certifications: Must have a current licensure by the Georgia State Board of the specified therapy and a valid CPR certification. Must possess a current valid Driver’s license.
Previous Experience: see Tier requirements.
Knowledge and Training: A professional knowledge of the theories, principles, practices and techniques inherent to the scope of practice. Communication skills to interact effectively with patient, family, care team members, referrals and community resources. Knowledge of accrediting bodies standards, Medicare, Medicaid and other funding source regulations as applied to home care services. Demonstrates competent techniques and practices of their profession.
Transportation: Must have valid automobile insurance and reliable transportation.
