Job Description

PolyJoule has available a full-time position in the field of chemistry and chemical processing. Candidates must have a degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or related field, with hands on experience in wet chemistry and laboratory work. Candidates should be able to work both independently and as part of the larger team, with a focus on experimental design, process optimization, and high-through analysis.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Close collaboration with R&D chemists to optimize processing techniques.
  • Chemical process optimization and testing of new materials
  • Weekly reports on the benefits and disadvantages of processing techniques, and the corresponding chemical phenomena that inhibit or enhance material performance
  • Coordination and surveying of new materials and new chemical processing techniques.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Working with vendors and suppliers on selecting, sourcing, and evaluating raw materials.
  • Other tasks and projects to support the team.

Experience and Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Chemistry, or related field.
  • Exceptional organization and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • 1-5 years of wet-lab experience (bio lab experience also welcomed).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems a plus
  • Working knowledge of spectroscopy, and other quality control techniques a plus.
  • Familiarity with computer programming in Python, Matlab, and/or LabVIEW a plus,

The position is based in Cambridge, MA, with satellite locations in Woburn, MA, and Lowell, MA.
