Associate Regional Compliance Officer (“ARCO”)
in Danbury, CT
. We are located about sixty (60) miles northeast of New York City in suburban Fairfield County and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York. This is an exciting position to work with a wonderful team of 4 as part of a Compliance team of 22 and gain very valuable experience as a compliance professional and provide for career growth. Reporting to a Special Associate Compliance Officer, (“SACO”) you would monitor and ensure compliance, collect documentation and prepare reports for the Board and the Office of the Inspector General. This position will be located in Danbury, CT and may have some remote work until we return to the office. You also need to be able to travel if needed to Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Danbury, Connecticut, located on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide array of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, fishing and boating in state and regional parks and preserves. Boston, New York City, New Haven and Hartford are easily accessible via train or car.

Consistent with legal requirements and compliance program best practices, the ARCO position is necessary for the development, implementation, and management of relevant compliance initiatives to ensure that Nuvance Health: (i) satisfies any existing or future compliance obligation that Nuvance Health may have pursuant to an agreement with the Federal or State of New York or State of Connecticut government including, without limitation, obligations under the Health Quest CIA Quest CIA”); (ii) establishes and maintains an effective compliance and ethics program as may be required by Federal or State of New York or State of Connecticut law and Nuvance Health’s internal policies, procedures, and adopted compliance principles.
With regard to the Health Quest CIA, and subject to the direction and oversight of the Senior Compliance Officer (“SCO”)or other supervising compliance officer, assumes responsibility for fulfilling and/or overseeing the fulfillment of, all obligations under the Health Quest CIA including, without limitation, the following:
Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and practices designed to ensure compliance with the Health Quest CIA and Federal healthcare program requirements;
As requested by the SCO or other supervising compliance officer, but in no event less than on a quarterly basis, creating periodic reports regarding compliance matters intended for dissemination to the Chief Compliance Officer (“CCO”), the Executive Compliance Committee (“ECC”) and/or the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Nuvance Health Board of Directors;
Monitoring the day-to-day-compliance activities regarding any reporting or other obligation under the Health Quest CIA.
With regard to Nuvance Health Compliance and Ethics Program (the “Program”) initiatives, assist in driving continuous improvement in organizational processes and services by utilizing appropriate improvement processes, compliance program best practices, assessment tools, and surveys to better identify and serve stakeholder needs. Contributes, along with other members of the compliance team, with assisting the CCO in his/her efforts to improve effectiveness and productivity of the Compliance function.
Assisting the SCO or other supervising compliance officer in preparing written memoranda, PowerPoint presentations, and dashboards and other compliance metrics that will assist the CCO in enhancing the Program
This position requires a minimum formal education of Bachelor's Degree and Minimum of 5 years work experience in compliance and/or healthcare operations or administration and strong project management skills.
Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) preferred.
