This role is a critical enabler of our journey to be the world’s leading data-driven retailer. As part of our transformation, we are seeking an individual who will be responsible for data enrichment projects – including sources and services – activities across the Analytics Capability Development team to elevate our data enrichment strategy as well as the processes to support data sourcing.
We are looking for a highly motivated, resourceful, team-oriented individual to drive the data enrichment and implementation processes. In addition to managing the portfolio of assets, you will play a key role in helping our business community work with these datasets effectively.
What will you do?
Enrich Best Buy’s data assets through Customer Identification and Third-Party data integration
Help identify and prioritize new data sources and usages
Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop data solutions
Use in-depth consulting skills to analyze business issues, formulate hypotheses and test conclusions to determine appropriate solutions.
Facilitate discussions to gather underlying data and analytics requirements. Document key deliverables associated with the overall strategy
Ability to get “hands dirty”, project managing technology projects. Gather and write requirements, resolve ambiguities, assist with design and build phases
Act as SME on data sources and uses
Responsible for implementing on-boarding workflow, including data quality testing
Curate reference documentation and lead training sessions to facilitate end user support
Improve the Quality of Best Buy’s Data Assets
Assist with developing customer identification and data enrichment strategies. Research and implement based on industry best practices
Assist in identifying, managing, investigating, and resolving data quality issues
Partner with and influence upstream providers of data to ensure accuracy at the sources of data
Partner with the Data Steward to recommend solutions to data anomalies
Ensure data set consistency
Study systems and data to provide clear, fact-based guidance to de-risk business decisions
Assist in designing new data infrastructures
Assist in creating process maps to show how data flows across systems and people
Become familiar with the analytical tools used by the team, including Tableau and SAS
Compliance with Best Buy Data Policies
Serve as the key liaison to internal regulatory, legal, privacy, and security teams to ensure compliance with company policies for data security (familiarity with CCPA, HIPPA, etc.)
Ensure we infuse data privacy and compliance into everything we design and build
Train and advise colleagues to build awareness of company data policies
Basic Requirements (You must meet or exceed all basic requirements to be eligible):
3 years of experience of data enrichment and data integration experience in a data focused organization
3 years of experience of IT and vendor management
Bachelors Degree (4 yr) or Equivalent Industry Experience
Self-directed, well organized and have excellent follow-up skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills – strong interpersonal skills
Strong relationship building skills, coupled with a high business acumen
Proven ability to drive results, especially in a matrixed or influence based environment
Detail oriented with ability to work, develop and think strategically
Driven to work with teams to dig into data, process and issues
