Unique private practice opportunity at tertiary referral center

Neurohospitalist partnership-track position is available in a premier well-established Neurology practice in Winchester, VA.

Opportunity to join 5 established neurologists with subspecialty training including neuro-imaging, behavioral neurology, vascular neurology, and epilepsy in a busy northern Virginia hub hospital with Primary Stroke Certification. We are seeking a stroke champion and an outcomes-oriented person to work collaboratively assisting in the growth of our inpatient programs.

Week on/week off hospital coverage from 7 a.m.- 7 p.m. with full-time support from 3 experienced hospital-based NPs/PAs. Average of 5-8 consults per day. Four overnight teleneurology shifts per month, in a rotation shared with the partners. There are limited outpatient responsibilities consisting of a hospital discharge clinic 1-2 ½ days per week supervising an experienced Neurology NP.

The physician would join a private neurology practice including subspecialists of epilepsy, neurophysiology, neuroimaging, behavioral neurology, and stroke. The neurology program includes a Level 4 comprehensive epilepsy program managed by two epileptologists. The hospital is actively recruiting to rebuild a comprehensive stroke program involving interventional neurology.

First year salary $350-375k including signing bonus support from the hospital system and reimbursement for administrative time. Two years to partnership with interim bonus possibility and opportunity for further significant salary growth as a partner.

This novel position allows for training in neuroimaging for formal interpretation of Neuro-related in hospital CT studies and Neuro ultrasound, and interaction with rotating Neurology residents if desired.

The practice is in Winchester, Virginia, which is in the historic Northern Shenandoah Valley. The local community has excellent public schools and offers an abundance of cultural activities including a local music conservatory and university. The Shenandoah mountain range and surrounding localities offer an abundance of outdoor activities including hiking, bicycling, and fishing.
