Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and admission of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures. Ensures that the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer database. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities
Ability to read, write and speak English required (additional languages a plus). Effective interpersonal skills. Analytical ability for numbers and situations. Ability to type 40 wpm.
Familiarity with medical billing; managed care and other medical insurance.
Previous office experience or training with exposure to keyboard, computer and other office equipment required, preferably in a medical setting. Previous experience or training in customer service required.
Associate Degree in business or related field preferred
