American Express Travel & Lifestyle Services (TLS) is a global business unit at American Express that delivers consumer travel and lifestyle services and benefits to Card Members. TLS plays an important role in overall Card product engagement, loyalty and satisfaction in addition to driving direct travel revenue and cost savings. Pivoting from a call center model to a digital servicing model is a strategic focus area for TLS in 2018 and beyond.
This role provides an opportunity to be an integral part of the Global Customer Experience & Digital Platforms team leading our pivot to a digital servicing model, combining online and offline assets to deliver a global best-in-class, omni-channel Travel and Lifestyle product.
Reporting to the Director of Business Strategy Execution, the Capabilities Project Manager will be responsible for planning, leading, executing and monitoring on a variety of complex business initiatives/projects within our PMO organization. The role requires effective collaboration with leaders and partners across TLS and AMEX Technology to provide structure and accountability that bridge thoughtful strategy, detailed planning, and disciplined execution for strategic capabilities.
This individual will work closely with Product leadership team and their AET Counterparts to drive consistency and maturity throughout the PMO process, managing multiple strategic capabilities through the product delivery cycle and responsible to ensure timelines are met and stakeholders within Product, Technology, and TLS are informed on a regular basis.
The ability to resolve conflict, influence and lead are critical skills necessary for success in this role. We manage capability development across multiple teams where prioritization is critical, along with clear communication and accountability.

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities:
Provide project management expertise to complex capabilities spanning multiple markets and products
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation ensuring deliverables are within scope and budget
Manage multiple capabilities simultaneously, at different stages of the product delivery cycle in addition to managing other projects & priorities
Provide and interpret PMO reporting, providing clinical, unbiased, results centered recommendations to both product and technology leaders
Perform risk management to minimize project issues/risks and continuously align with project deliverables and timeline escalating risks/issues when necessary
Relationship management, including ability to develop strong working relationships with product and technology leaders to define, launch and drive strategic capabilities
Engagement with team members across multiple markets, regions and time zones

Qualifications:
3+ years of Project Management experience
PMP Certification desired, but not required
Agile experience preferred, but not required
Demonstrated strategic thinking and planning skills with excellent attention to detail
Thought leadership/creative problem solving, including challenging the status quo and driving progressive improvement
Proven track record of driving results in complex, global work environment
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
