PSW Group is searching for an HR Generalist to support the PSW plant operations. This position is the conduit for positive employee and management relations and will also be accountable for other human resources generalist responsibilities.
This position will administer and coordinate the Human Resource policies and programs covering several of the following areas: partnering with managers and supervisors, employee relations, wage, salary and payroll administration, orientation and training, safety and health, benefits administration. This position also administers the recruitment, development, and retention of employees; has knowledge of EEO laws and general human resources concepts. This position reports to the HR Director at PSW Group.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements and administers on-going policies, programs, and procedures to foster understanding of and partner with management and supervisors for optimal positive employee relations and retention strategies.
- Works alongside managers and/or supervisors in an advisory capacity when needed.
- Ensures communication between managers and/or supervisors is fluid and continuous.
- Responsible for monitoring employee retention at the facility is maintained at an acceptable level. Uses knowledge, experience, and continuous interpretation of facility dynamics to help understand and determine the training and educational needs of the hourly employees and administrative, management employees.; and makes recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives and strategies.
- Manages all new employee recruitment, orientation, and training.
- Responsible for the Safety programs, the Safety Committee and meetings, Compliance & Training, and OSHA recordkeeping requirements and logs.
- Accountable for Safety and Workers’ Compensation protocols and the administration of Workers Comp claims. Assists managers and supervisors.
- Performs HR statistical analysis and prepares reports and communicates data and trends.
- Responsible for employee benefit enrollments, questions, or inquiries.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years’ relevant experience, preferred.
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
- Knowledge of Human Resource systems; Internet software; Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Payroll Database software.
- Possesses specialized knowledge of HR systems, processes, and procedures, including administration of benefits, compensation, and other programs.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to partner with managers and supervisors.
- Must be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Most of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the production plant or warehouse center. The environment will include, at times walking onto the plant production floor where there is weather and nonweather related hot or humid conditions, extreme cold, working near moving mechanical parts or equipment.
- Noise level in the work environment is quiet in the office, but can be loud when on the production floor, warehouse or loading areas.
- Frequently required to sit.
