Our Accounting team is looking for a hands-on Senior Manager in the US Controller’s Group to lead the monthly financial statement close process and set account reconciliations standards for all of the US business units ($17B zone). As a Senior Manager, you will lead a large team of 10 local and 20 offshore managers and staff to ensure the critical preparation of monthly reporting and build relationships with Business Unit personnel to review and understand local operations, metrics, and results. You will also help ensure the appropriate design and operating effectiveness of the internal control and policy/procedural environments governing operational and transactional accounting. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to challenge the status quo with recurring processes, to make the team more efficient & able to focus on more value-add activities.
Drive account reconciliation expectations
Ensure proper accounting in accordance is US GAAP for various prepaid, accrual, and expense processes
Management of routine and ad hoc reporting supporting Finance Leadership
Provide strategic direction for the development of new processes as needed by the business to support growth, strategy shifts, and/or “continuous improvement initiatives”
Directly supervise team, including general hiring and training, assigning and directing work, and appraising performance.
Lead various multi-disciplinary teams or projects that facilitate the end-to-end expense processes
Draft and/or update existing financial, accounting and other business policies, including technical accounting guidance, as needed, to support the business
Support all financial related audits including compliance, client, internal and external audits and SOX
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
Minimum 6 years of accounting experience, specifically within a large public organization
SEC and US GAAP knowledge
Account reconciliations experience
Superior written and oral communication skills
Ability to produce high quality work in ambiguous environments, analytically interpret financial information, and improve business processes
Optimistic attitude and creative problem solver
Advanced analytical abilities in Excel with the ability to present clear stories in PowerPoint
Technology savvy with demonstrated ability to learn systems and processes quickly
Clear passion and interest to challenge the status quo
