Putting Rare Diseases Patients First!(R) seeks to serve patients with rare diseases, and the parents of children with rare diseases. We do this by providing them with information about the clinical trial and drug development process. The organization has been in business for 5 years. We are now seeking someone with deep financial experience to join the Board of Directors.
This person must have a recognized financial qualification, such as a CPA, and must be board certified. He or she can be based anywhere in the world. They must be able to spend a minimum of 3 hours per week in the role. This means, although they will have a full time job, there should be sufficient interest in giving back to this area.
The role is completely volunteer. Tasks include keeping QB updated, creating budgets, reviewing and submitting grant applications, and articulating the goals and vision of the organization to funding organizations.
The Treasurer must have the maturity to keep commitments when made, and to understand that although this is a volunteer organization, we are aiming for a high degree of excellence in everything that we do.
