Gensler’s Workplace Studio in Charlotte is currently seeking an Interior Designer for Commercial Interiors in our Workplace Studio. In this position, you will collaborate with our Design Director, Project Managers, and Project Architects to develop appropriate design solutions for Workplace clients in a variety of project types.

Your Role

Contribute to all project phases:
Developing project strategy
Develop test fits, schematic plans and conceptual designs for schematic design phases
Refine design solutions for design development phases, collaborating with multiple disciplines
Produce graphic presentations, including 3D renderings, for client presentations
Develop FF&E packages, including the specification of materials, fixtures and furniture, coordinating with dealers and manufacturers to meet client and project goals
Contribute to the preparation of construction documents, including plans, elevations, details and specifications
Assist in managing team and client communication
Collaborate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to achieve project objectives
Contribute to our office and firm culture, initiatives, mentorship and talent development

Your Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in interior design
7-10 years of related professional commercial interior design experience including FF&E, color and materials
Strong communication skills- both verbal and visual- to communicate design concepts
Proficient in the use of 2D/3D software, including Revit, Octane, Rhino, Bluebeam, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
Experience using and applying VR and/or AR as applicable to the interior design process is a plus.
Knowledge of commercial project constructability, project costs, and code requirements
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
LEED accreditation a plus
