This is an entry level position that provides an opportunity to develop necessary skills, by providing exposure to the repair and rebuild of undercarriage component parts and assemblies. In this role, you will primarily operate a forklift and you will also be exposed to other machines and equipment used in the operation. Good organizational skills are a must, and you will need to be able to communicate orally and in writing. This includes but is not limited to: instructions and explanations to associates, customers and management regarding equipment conditions, problems and recommendations. In this role you may work in adverse weather and/or shop and field situations presented by client needs.
Operate automatic welding machines, track press, track re-grousering equipment, and other shop equipment.
Disassemble components, inspect parts, and check for wear and defects.
Determine reparability, reusability and extent of repairs required.
Reassemble all types of undercarriages, assemblies, and components.
Complete required time cards and service reports.
Maintain company equipment – keep in good clean orderly condition.
Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.
Own and maintain required personal tools.
Learn and use Empire, Caterpillar and allied product procedures and systems.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Maintain current MSHA card if work area requires.
Provide on-the-job training to technicians and helpers as assigned.
Work overtime as needed.
Travel to remote locations as needed.
Make warranty recommendations.
Communicate with proper individuals to clarify instructions or discuss scope or progress of job.

Knowledge of CAT machine components and systems.
Education and Experience:
Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Current driver’s license.
Minimum of 6 months related experience.
Completion of TRAIN test evaluation.
Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
