What you'll be doing:
Duties and Responsibilities

Review all daily final figures for accuracy and ensure Hotel PMS & Yardi match
Review/oversee daily balance of Daily Report's, a timely month-end and year-end close
Ensure expenses are coded to proper G/L accounts and cost centers and communicate with department heads as necessary (Actual vs. Budget)
Complete daily bank reconciliation and monitor cash levels
Review and ensure the accuracy of all revenue reconciliations
Assist with monthly closes and Financial Statement generation
Support and oversee training of all hotel accounting personnel
Assist with budgeting and forecasting
Serve as backup for Hotel Accounting Managers
Review and ensure the accuracy of the folio, tips, and rebate accounts
Assist hotel accounting teams with policies / procedures / disputes
Review/oversee daily cash management functions and ensure accuracy
Prepare and file all monthly state and county tax filings including MD Sales and use Tax and County Occupancy Tax
Review Petty Cash Logs
Complete monthly Prepaid and A/P Reconciliations
Review and post monthly accruals and contracts
Complete spot audits of policies and procedures
Hold [periodic, monthly, weekly, daily] department meetings based on need or property policy
Comply with all Southern Management's policies and procedures
Perform various other duties as assigned by Director and/or Supervisor
Ad hoc reporting as necessary

Minimum three (3) years hotel accounting experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Prior hospitality experience required
Opera and/or MAESTRO software experience and responsible for accounting for multiple hotels preferred
