Bellevue College invites applicants for the position of Human Resources Generalist. The Human Resources Generalist will work as a member of the Human Resources Team to provide high-level, professional human resources expertise, services and support for all job applicants and employees, throughout the Bellevue College community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES
The responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist include providing Applicants, Employees, Departments and Divisions with excellent Customer Service by meeting the following expectations:
Collaborate with the HR Employment Specialist to facilitate the recruitment and hiring process for Faculty, Staff, and Temporary Employees as assigned.
Maintain compliance with collective bargaining agreements, employee handbooks, and administrative policy manuals.
Collaborate with the HR Team to develop, maintain, present, and analyze recruitment, retention and other metrics to facilitate workforce decision-making.
Foster and maintain honest, positive, and productive working relationships with Employees, Managers, and Bargaining Unit Representatives.
Use effective communications skills to disseminate information to all constituents.
Identify and/or develop creative solutions to personnel or management issues within the parameters of Collective Bargaining Agreements, College Policies and Procedures and Employee/Student/Administrative Handbooks.
Maintain compliance with current and future legislation and policies mandated by College Board, the President's Cabinet, State Legislature and/or Federal legislative bodies.
Participate in State or Bellevue College compensation analysis and review procedures.
Collaborate with the HR Team and the College's managers and supervisors to implement employee annual performance reviews and evaluation procedures, as required by College Policies/Procedures, and CBAs.
Participate in the development, review, and/or revision of institutional policies and procedures.
Identify staff professional development opportunities and collaborate with the HR Training Manager and other appropriate personnel to create professional development strategies and resources, and ensure compliance with mandated training requirements.
Investigate, resolve, and report, as appropriate, Bellevue College constituent complaints assuring compliance with relevant Bellevue College policies and procedures, timeliness and due process for all parties.
Collaborate with the HR Team to develop, deliver, and revise (as-needed) new employee orientation and onboarding resources and activities, which facilitates a positive, productive transitional experience for new employees, and helps to define the culture, methods of communication and organizational structure of Bellevue College.
Represent the VP of HR and the Human Resource Office on campus committees, task forces, project initiatives or other meetings as assigned.
Keep current on changes in various state or federal regulations and labor laws and communicate the impact of those changes as related to Bellevue College Human Resources operations, programs and practices.
Advise employees, managers and supervisors on employee/labor relations policies, procedures and practices.
Collaborate with the HR team and other resources to routinely update job descriptions and assure appropriate placement on the appropriate salary schedules as defined by College Policies and Procedures and CBAs.
Collaborate with the HR Team and other resources to assure College compliance with Federal, State and local laws and standards relating to employee rights and employer responsibilities including but not limited to Title IX, ADA, FMLA, Labor and Industries return-to-work, and other state-supported or collectively bargained leave plans.
All other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree from accredited institution in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Behavioral Sciences or related field (or equivalent, relevant professional experience).
Three years working in a human resources environment at the professional level with increasing responsibilities.
Recruitment experience at the management and various other levels of an organization.
Prior experience in and understanding of various employee compensation structures and administration, including job evaluation and position upgrade and reallocation practices.
Prior experience or training conducting complaint investigations and developing investigation reports.
Effective written and verbal communication skills. Prior work experience or training which demonstrates strong organizational skills.
Prior work experience requiring the coaching, advising and supporting management, supervisors, and leaders.
Prior experience working as a member of a productive team and collaborating with others at varying levels of the institution.
This position will be opened until filled.
This position is not eligible for relocation allowance.
