Noblis ESI is seeking Systems Engineer-Container for their Warner Robins, GA location.

The Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) is a weapons system which produces military intelligence collected by systems such as: the U-2 Dragonlady, RQ-4 Global Hawk, MQ-9 Reaper and MQ-1 Predator. It consists of computer hardware and software connected together in a computer network, devoted to processing and dissemination of information such as images. The successful candidate will support the program office during the system life cycle by providing technical writing assistance to include efforts that support or contribute to improved performance of the organization; program/project management; engineering process and technical management; project monitoring and reporting; data collection; performance auditing; administrative technical support.

  • This position requires high creativity and motivation with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes
  • Subject Matter Expert in container and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Supports customers with transitioning mission critical applications to containerized solutions
  • Lead projects with minimal supervision, displaying strong follow-through and initiative
  • Understands and implements container security best practices
  • Automate manual processes by using scripting languages such as Shell, PowerShell, Python, Perl, JavaScript, etc.
  • Applies engineering principles to acquire, implement, design, develop architectures, and maintain integrated computer systems
  • Maintains a continuing computer engineering knowledge of state-of-the-art development in hardware and software, their individual characteristics, capabilities, operations, and limitations
  • Assists in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new or ongoing development projects
  • Provides technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT capabilities projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing systems
  • Identifies opportunities that can improve efficiency of Mission Operations and IT processes
  • Direct and perform all necessary audits and maintenance activity to ensure service levels are sustained, and that systems are optimized and not compromised
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions
  • The position includes developing and testing new products, troubleshooting complex system issues, interpreting work orders to program various systems, and resolving escalated issues
  • Must have and maintain an ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline (preferably IT)
  • 5+ Years of managing, supporting, and engineering Windows AND Linux environments
  • 3+ Years of managing, supporting and engineering container & orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and related server-less computing capabilities
  • Candidates must be actively 8570 compliant (Sec+, CISSP, etc)
  • Strong general IT and Data Center knowledge and experience
  • Experience with installation of software, updates and security patches, support to application support specialists, and monitoring of systems and log files to ensure appropriate server resource availability
  • Possesses knowledge of systems engineering principles, computer hardware and computer software
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple environments
  • Provide on-call support and remote troubleshooting
  • Work off-hours occasionally, sometimes on short notice
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Must be able to travel occasionally
Desired Qualifications

  • Docker Certified Associate (DCA)
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Relevant Windows or Linux certifications
  • Experience with integrating container solutions using DevOps methodologies and CI/CD automation best practices
  • Knowledge of Enterprise IT Service Management: IT Service Delivery, ITIL Service Management Framework including: Service design, Service-level management, Availability management, Capacity management and IT service continuity management
