Sr. Business Analyst
Sr. Product & Business Analyst
Capital One's Small Business Lending team is looking for a passionate and curious Sr. Business Analyst who loves tackling complex problems and bringing to bear simple yet sophisticated solutions. The ideal candidate will get excited about combining data and strategy to deliver breakthrough products and customer experiences. Small business lending is where mortgages were 10-15 years ago: opaque, overly complex, and difficult for customers to easily navigate. Our team is focused on bringing transparency, ease, and simplicity to this market for both our customers and our bankers and we need you.
You will play an instrumental role in helping to develop products, define acquisition and marketing strategies, improve customer experiences, and create and enhance credit policies. You will do this by gathering customer insights, analyzing large data sets, designing and conducting experiments, and making recommendations that balances the needs of the business, customer, and community. The final outcome you bring to market should design for the customer and solve for obstacles.
This role will have the following focus areas:
Work with research and customer insights teams to understand customer needs and pain points
Identify features and experience elements that matter to small businesses
Conduct competitive analysis to inform how we differentiate
Unearth key insights that illuminate untapped opportunities
Collaborate with partner teams in sales, marketing, underwriting, and operations to design and deliver outstanding products and experiences
Use valuations models to evaluate opportunities and understand tradeoffs of various product and experience options
Develop and execute on go to market plans to evaluate efficacy of product and experience decisions
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations
Perform modeling/analytics to assist new product and pricing strategies for various lending products
Support direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products, and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel. Help build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go to market strategies
Involve problem frame-works, develop hypotheses, test and analysis, solution development, scope operational feasibility, lead implementation efforts and develop a monitoring plan
Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability
Strategic & analytic orientation:
A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic marketing & credit risk management
Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity:
He/she should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business
Strong communication skills:
Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills

display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment
Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
- At least 1 year of experience in analysis
- Master’s Degree
- 2+ years of experience in business analysis
- 1+ years of experience in Statistical model building
- 1+ years of experience in SQL querying
- 1+ years of experience in consulting
