Position Summary
The role of the AV Technician is to install, repair, and/or maintain a variety of Audio Visual (AV) & Videoconferencing (VTC) equipment/systems with minimal supervision. In addition, the AV Technician's will install low voltage security, data and wireless systems. The AV Technician's goal is to complete tasks with a high degree of quality and efficiency, while practicing professionalism for optimal job performance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

AV Technician will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: installation, configuration, integration and testing of VTC/AV equipment, security devices for access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, structured cabling wireless projects.
Cable management.
Integration, test, configuration, and troubleshooting of IP networks.
Conduct customer site surveys and provide sales engineering assistance.
Perform specialized technical tasks in the operation, installation, configuration and maintenance of complex AV equipment for company and customers.
Read and interpret AV system drawings, schematics, and construction plans and install AV equipment to meet requirements as detailed in installation plans.
Install low voltage wiring and cable; solder and terminate connectors; wire equipment racks; and assemble equipment/devices using the appropriate supports/mounts.
TRAVEL: The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma required.
EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years of technical AV-related field experience.
Ability to read and interpret AV, security, data and wireless system drawings, schematics, and construction plans
Cable Pulling, Rack Building, Signal Termination, System Calibration, System Testing and Final Commissioning.
Computer Literate/MS Office.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This position requires handling confidential information in an appropriate manner. Customer interactions must be handled with diplomacy and tact.
DECISION MAKING/JUDGEMENT: The AV Lead Technician may be on their own in solving problems and determining satisfactory solutions. Ability to work independently and in a team setting is imperative.
POSITION BONUS ATTRIBUTES
Hands on experience with fiber and copper installations/projects including splicing
Hands on experience with security devices for access control, intrusion detection and CCTV installations/projects
Hands on experience with DAS/Wireless projects
Hands on experience with AV projects
Obtain company approved (manufacturer) certifications
Obtain BICSI Installer either Level 1 or Level 2 certification
OTHER COMPETENCIES:
Must be able to learn and support new and quickly-changing technologies.
Ability to research solutions or information regarding technical issues.
Ability to read and interpret AV system drawings, schematics, and construction plans.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Good work habits under pressure.
Experience with related technologies such as security, VOIP, IT, and telecom.
Other industry certifications a plus (Cisco, Biamp, Extron, Crestron or AMX).
Familiarity with uploading code for AMX, Crestron and Extron control systems.
High energy level.
Detail oriented.
Excellent customer service skills; must possess a "can do" attitude.
Ability to effectively work individually or in a team environment.
Competency in performing multiple functional tasks.
Assertive and resourceful; self-motivated; willing to ask questions and take initiative be able to communicate clearly.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. The employee may be required to work in tight, confined spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
