This individual must first and foremost possess outstanding bedside manner and patient rapport. We are looking to add a CPAP Practitioner to a DME business that has serviced this area for more than 30 years. You must be able to work well with a team and be detail oriented. Preferred credentials include, but are not limited to RRT, RCP, RN. Comparable training from AMA approved Respiratory Therapist Program or an ADN degree with graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing is necessary.

Additional skills could be RRT credentialed from the National Board of Respiratory Care and active Credential Status by the National Board of Respiratory Care. This candidate should maintain current status with CPR and first aid training. Practitioner will work mainly in the office with a large and expanding CPAP, Bi-Level PAP, ASV and NIV patient base. Occasional patient home visits may be necessary. This employee will report to the president of the company.

Respiratory responsibilities:

  • Provide care to CPAP patients in accordance with Northwest Respiratory & Medical’s policies and procedures
  • Conduct face-to-face appointments with new and existing patients.
  • Interpret PAP usage data and make appropriate changes to pressures, mask and equipment fittings
  • Provide set up of equipment including but not limited to: CPAP, Bi-level, oxygen and other related types of equipment
  • Plan, direct and/or implement and evaluate home respiratory equipment delivered to patients
  • Implement physician’s orders after checking for accuracy and clarity
  • Provide education and orientation to personnel, patients, family and care givers
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with hospital staff, physicians and physicians staff
  • Participate in continuing education to maintain certifications/licensures
  • Assess patient’s overall respiratory status and recommends modifications where necessary to patient’s physician
  • Maintain professional behaviors while conducting business
  • Stay current on trends in equipment to provide best quality of equipment and care for patients


  • Customer service in store as needed
  • On call as required
  • Answering phone as needed

LIFTING REQUIREMENTS: This employee may lift equipment which can weigh up to 40 pounds. This employee is expected to use any and all devices which assist in transporting heavy equipment when applicable.

RISK OF EXPOSURE TO INFECTIONS: High. This employee is frequently in direct contact with customers in the store as well as in the client homes. Direct skin-to-skin contact is likely to occur during oxygen set-ups. This employee will have frequent exposure to dust and occasional exposure to fumes, odors, mold, smoke and gases. This employee must become familiar with the company’s policy on infection control and policies concerning what to do if an exposure has occurred.
