Full Job Description
As a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, provide a range of psychiatric nursing services to patients on the inpatient unit at Park Center.
Administers medication according to Park Center policy.
Transcribes physician orders, coordinates with pharmacy, ensures accuracy of medication supply and ensures the accuracy of medication administration records.
Completes medical treatments (i.e. vital signs, breathing treatments, blood sugar readings, nursing assessments, health screenings, etc.) as assigned.
Maintains client care and required documentation in accordance with Park Center policy and procedures.
Participates in daily clinical staffing conferences to ensure continuity of care.
Completes clinical and administrative tasks and paperwork as assigned.
May provide health related educational classes to clients and staff.
Utilizes appropriate verbal de-escalation techniques to minimize the need for seclusion or restraint.
Assists clients with activities of daily living as assigned.
Participates in educational activities to enhance professional and job related skills as assigned.
Supervise and evaluate each patient’s plan of care.
Develop, update and evaluate nursing care plans.
Delegate patient care to other staff as appropriate.
Participates in discharge planning as appropriate.
Assumes other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Indiana. Minimum of one year experience in a psychiatric setting.
