Part-time hourly position without state benefits. Wage employees are restricted to working approximately 29 hours per week, not to exceed 1,500 hours annually.

The Admissions Specialist – International Student Advisor interprets and coordinates the implementation of federal Immigration and Naturalization Service regulations, ensuring the college’s compliance and eligibility to issue student visa approval; and implementation of domicile law and state guidelines for determining student eligibility for in-state tuition rates and tuition-free classes. This position maintains information in publications utilized by Admissions and Records and on office web sites.

Minimum Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of admissions practices, campus offerings, and enrollment services programs. Considerable knowledge of international education; regulations and laws related to enrollment of non-U.S. citizens; domicile eligibility for in-state tuition rates; and release of confidential data. Considerable working knowledge of Student Information Systems which support enrollment and academic processes. Demonstrated ability to interpret policies and procedures, and manage numerous processes under strict timelines and high-volume periods. Demonstrated ability to conduct research and analyze data; and review student requests for eligibility for various enrollment statuses and in-state tuition. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and in cross-cultural situations. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and current software packages, including but not limited to, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Front Page (or an equivalent web development package). High school graduate or equivalent. Selected candidate must be able to pass the college’s pre-employment security screening.

Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from accredited college or university with coursework in student personnel, legal assisting, information systems, or a related field is preferred. Experience related to the provision of services in a college/university admission or records office, preferably with special populations and international students, and with domicile processes.
