Nature of Work
This position is responsible for performing basic to moderate GIS analysis. Primarily, the
GIS Programmer Analyst will follow the application design and programming career path. This position may be asked to assist in developing and maintaining ASP.Net web applications, as well as ESRI JavaScript web mapping applications. This position involves maintaining geospatial data resources, responding to information requests with reports, maps, and data, testing software, providing user support to GIS software, assisting in training users in GIS, and automating workflows using python scripting and SQL queries.
Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's degree, including six semester hours in computer science or GIS from an regionally accredited college or university.
Note: Preference may be given to those with degrees in geography, cartography, geology, forestry, natural or earth sciences, environmental sciences, engineering, engineering technology, mathematics, computer science, planning or a related field.
Substitution: A professional diploma from National Geospatial-Intelligence College of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency may substitute for the training.
