JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Brand Manager (ABM) is responsible for supporting the development and execution of marketing plans and programs to achieve the Company’s short and long-term business objectives. This will include ownership of brand projects, communications, innovation, and the day-to-day business activity and management of designated brands to meet financial and in-market targets. This marketing role leverages creative, analytical, and planning skills to drive awareness, sales, and brand equity. She/he will collaborate closely with internal team members and utilize agency partners to maximize brand opportunities and execution. His/her work and priorities will be guided by the Vice-President, Marketing and Senior Brand Manager, but she/he will be expected to guide the work of others, independently make daily resource allocation decisions, and bring forward proposed solutions to challenges encountered on the job. To be successful in this role, the ABM will have a strong passion for building a deep understanding of consumers and the marketplace and the agility to deliver creative and innovative solutions that allow the team to win.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Monitor and analyze sales volumes, market share trends, promotional initiatives, and competitive activity. Effectively synthesize weekly share data for brand and competitors to identify key drivers.
2. Use available data sources (including syndicated data) to monitor state of business including consumption, distribution, brand share, promotional effectiveness, and category trends.
3. Develop and manage brand spend, including reconciliation of budget data monthly.
4. Lead cross-functional project teams to implement brand and category growth plans.
5. Participate in the development and execution of brand marketing plans, including assessment of critical issues and the recommendation of strategic and tactical solutions.
6. Leverage insights and analytics to make fact-based business recommendations.
7. Assist in cross-functional organization, planning, and execution of marketing programs (consumer, expert, and trade) to drive profitability objectives.
8. Provide thought leadership in developing practical solutions to both quantitative and qualitative complex problems.
9. Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
1. BS/BA (Marketing, Business), MBA preferred.
2. 3-5 years of marketing experience.
3. Consumer packaged goods (CPG) and/or over the counter (OTC) brand management experience highly preferred.
4. Critical thinking and problem solving.
5. Passionate and self-motivated.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
7. Strong analytical skills and ability to uncover measurable insights in large datasets.
8. Digital/e-Commerce marketing knowledge (paid search, digital display, social, etc.).
9. Influence independently, negotiate effectively and build relationships with cross functional team members.
10. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
11. Ability to handle ambiguity.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT
1. This position requires the individual to stand or walk up to 33% of the time. This position requires the individual to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel 66% to 100% of the time. This position requires the individual to reach with hands and arms 33% to 66% of the time.
2. This position will require the individual to lift up to 10 pounds 33% to 66% of the time.
3. The vision requirements for this position includes close vision of 20 inches or less; distance vision of 20 feet or more, color vision (ability to distinguish between colors), peripheral vision (ability to see up, down, left, right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (3-dimensional vision), and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
