The Engineer IV is responsible for developing new packaging technology and system capability for The Coca-Cola Company. The role will include leveraging external technology from other markets, guiding current and new suppliers, and implementing new concepts in a scalable fashion. Additionally, the candidate will work closely with the Technology Center and external vendors to bring concepts through functional prototype stage to validated package, and with Engineering to enable implementation within a Business Unit. This position reports to the Director, Packaging Application Research, and will work with extended team members from Global Engineering organization.

Function Specific Activities:
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

Lead or participate on cross-functional global priority projects to de-risk and/ or introduce new technologies
Successfully develop commercial packages using a Stage Gate approach
Develop subject matter expertise in processes or materials applicable to strategic needs within the organization
Manage work with external vendors, suppliers, universities and design agencies to enable agile development and quick decision-making
Apply scientific and engineering principles to further fundamental understanding of packaging technologies and apply to experimental design to develop corresponding data
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project progress and maximize value to the System

Education Requirements:
M.S. Required, Ph.D. Preferred in Chemical Engineering, Materials or Polymer Science/ Engineering or Science related discipline.

Related Work Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in R&D engineering for a major CPG company or packaging supplier.
Packaging knowledge: Knowledge of technologies and trends within the packaging industry, particularly for beverage packaging, and knowledge of materials typically used in beverage packaging.
Experimental design and analysis: Use of design of experiments, iterative methods, statistical & data analysis.
IP and Confidentiality: Experience managing confidentiality, handling agreements, and comfort with advanced patent searching techniques. The ideal candidate will have multiple patents/ applications for commercialized technology.
