Right now we're looking for a Benefits Specialist to join our growing team. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for overseeing and administering the benefit programs for all employed Doctors of Optometry (OD), including healthcare and retirement plans.

What would you do? - The Specifics

Oversees and administers the benefit programs for the company’s employed Doctors of Optometry (OD); answers incoming calls and responds to inquiries; provides guidance regarding benefit elections, coverages, provisions and exclusions
Prepares and develops communication materials for OD benefit programs to be used for recruiting, eligibility and educational purposes.
Engages in the OD Mentorship Programs and delivers effective presentations of the corporate benefits program.
Interprets company policies and government regulations to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
Responds to routine questions and concerns from all employees, managers, and benefit providers; researches concerns and resolves complex, non-routine OD problems.
Develops and documents departmental workflow processes; makes recommendations for process improvements to continuously improve efficiency.
Reconciles doctor and employer retirement contributions each bi-weekly payroll and processes the wire-transfers to the record-keeper.
Approves/denies requests for qualified life event changes in the enrollment portal upon review/receipt of proper supporting documentation.
Ensures that new doctors that are eligible for benefits receive enrollment packets, HSA instructions and other needed materials as a result of their elections.
Distributes to terminated doctors information on how their exiting impacts their benefits.

Position Requirements:
Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
At least 2 - 4 years of experience with Benefits Administration.
Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical skills.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Knowledgeable regarding health and welfare benefits and standard healthcare regulations such as ERISA, COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, etc.
HRIS experience preferred.
Effective communication skills and strong presentation skills; demonstrated ability to effectively deliver informative and engaging presentations.
Strong attention to detail.
Understands and applies complex information and data from various sources to meet objectives.
Manages multiple assignments, sets priorities, and adapts to changing conditions and work assignments.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with tact and discretion.
