Job Duties
The Department of Environmental Quality's Northern Regional Office (NRO) seeks a qualified candidate to perform receptionist duties, to include answering multiple phone lines, greeting /directing callers and visitors to the appropriate programmatic staff; performing general administrative duties such as procurement and budget tracking, fleet mileage reporting and serving as back up for new employee orientation and onboarding. This position will also prepare documents, perform data entry and retrieval, process mail, assist with facility management and maintain inventory and file management to include preparing, scanning/electronic filing of documents and responding to FOIA requests.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate and prior clerical/administrative assistant experience. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures and file management principles. Skills in automated use of personal computer to include Microsoft Word and Excel. Skill in operation of office machines to include photocopier, scanner and postage machine. English and Spanish speaking required. Experience in customer service. Ability to learn and apply basic knowledge and understanding of environmental laws and issues to effectively directs calls to appropriate staff. Ability to interpret administrative policies and procedures to assist with the administrative functions of the regional office. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and with emphasis on verbal communications.
