We are searching for a Driver join our team. This position is responsible for driving diesel powered tractor trailers over the road to transport and deliver our frozen products to distribution centers and customer warehouses.
Responsibilities include:
Must follow all GMP regulations and be active in all safety programs offered by the company.
Observe all safety regulations and policies observed by the company, OSHA, DOT or applicable laws.
Drive tractor trailers and unload shipments by means of industrial trucks such as forklifts, pallets jack or drexel.
Handle product on loading dock according to customer specifications and returns any rejected product appropriately.
Performs back haul of supplies or ingredients according to work schedule.
Must do a pre-use inspection of vehicle i.e., tires, lights, brakes.
Maintains cleanliness, gases and routine maintenance of vehicles.
Maintains all necessary paperwork such as trip records, tolls receipts or delivery slips and returns same to the appropriate personnel.
Informs supervision of any problems arising with deliveries due to weather, road conditions or changes in projected time of arrival or departure.
Maintains driver log according to the I.C.C. regulations.
Checks temperature gauges to ensure quality standards of product.
Inspects shipment in conformance to specific weight requirement and/ or load distribution according to applicable laws.
Obtains customer signature on all invoices and paperwork.
Attends company scheduled meetings when applicable (i.e., safety meetings, production meetings, department meetings.).
Informs supervision of any problems or complications that may arise
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
Our ideal candidate will possess the following competences
High School Diploma.
Class A CDL license with a satisfactory driving record.
3 – 4 years’ experience in related positions.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write basic business / customer service correspondence.
Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently.
