Merchandise Re-buyers are key people within the Bob’s Discount Furniture organization who play a vital role by assuring that we have optimum inventory levels and availability.

The primary function of the Merchandise Re-buyer is to continually manage a group of items, as assigned by the Group Manager – Replenishment, to assure that Bob’s Discount Furniture will maximize business and profitability.


Function in a manner that is consistent with the Bob’s Discount Furniture way of doing business. It is of paramount importance that the Re-buyer upholds the principles of honesty, integrity and fairness when interacting with employees, suppliers and customers
Order, flow, track and manage the inventory of an assigned group of items (skus and/or vendors). This includes, but is not limited to, sku analysis, purchase order creation and tracking, product transitions, and appointment scheduling
Obtain and maintain a complete understanding of merchandise and classification performance. Understand the merchandising direction, advertising plans, etc. in order to make intelligent planning decisions
Adhere to established parameters for ordering merchandise and question as necessary. Pay attention to the needs of the business and work with management to update merchandise projections, formulas,
tools, etc.

Foster strong relationships between the Replenishment Department and the other departments within Bob’s Discount Furniture (timely responsiveness, etc.)
Develop and maintain positive relationships with the vendor community.
Seek help when necessary regarding purchasing problems, personnel issues and for personal job development. Communicate issues as necessary
Work closely with the Buyers to coordinate product transitions, communicate problems, trends, concerns, etc.
Ability to collaborate and support work functions related to the job when needed due to short term staffing needs.
Required to work 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite – to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint in particular
Full understanding and competence on SAP , Demand Solutions and other applicable tools
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
Ability to use sound judgment and decision making
Ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented – both verbal and written
Excellent mathematical reasoning – The ability to understand and analyze sales numbers
High attention to detail
Self-directed individual who can work independently and yet collaborate with team members cross-functionally as necessary
Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organizational skills with ability to plan and prioritize in a high volume environment with competing demands
Good identification of key causes - Identifying the causal factors that must be changed to achieve a goal
Preferred Qualifications

Associates or Bachelor’s degree
Retail or analytical training or experience
Knowledge of furniture and accessories
