Job Summary

A Technical Editor/Writer must be able to operate with a fair degree of autonomy, but with limits prescribed by supervisor. Must posses a high degree of judgment required in selecting techniques and approaches to complete assigned work and in dealing with unique, complex situations. This position requires exemplary planning and organizational skills with high degree of detail orientation. A qualified candidate must be a goal-driven professional who maintains a productive climate and confidently motivates, mobilizes, and coaches colleagues to meet high performance standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

Able to edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures.
Receive assignments from supervisor, assists in production, developmental, and research activities.
Coordinate information delivery for proposals and assist in collecting and reporting proposal status to Business Development staff.
Archive and properly catalog information as it is completed.
Review and conduct editing of technical documents in support of proposal preparation.
Maintain contact with internal customers, Government agencies, and other businesses in the industry to develop and promote business.
Maintain contact with company staff at most levels in order to exchange information.
Qualifications and Skills

Experience enhancing writing by providing correction of grammatical mistakes, misspellings, mistyping, incorrect punctuation, inconsistencies in usages, poorly structured sentences, wrong scientific terms, wrong units and dimensions, inconsistency in significant figures, technical ambivalence, technical disambiguation, correction of statements conflicting with general scientific knowledge, correction of synopsis, content, index, headings and subheadings, correcting data and chart presentation in a research paper or report, correcting errors in citations.
Bachelor's degree desired. (Preferred Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or Communications)

Greater than 3 years of experience in related field.
